Tearful goodbye for Daddy
Sgt. Cory Gilbert holds his teary-eyed 5-year-old daughter Adriana Gilbert tight to his Thursday before being deployed with his Davenport, Iowa-based National Guard unit Thursday morning. 55 members of the 334th Forward Support Battalion and the 834th Engineer Company along with their family and friends attended a farewell ceremony for the units Thursday morning at the Davenport Armory. Sgt. Gilbert's unit will eventually be deployed to Afghanistan.
