A long goodbye
Pfc. Blake Tyler, 21, of Erie, Ill., feeds his 7-month-old daughter, Kaitlyn Siddles, before being deployed with his Davenport-based National Guard unit Thursday morning. Tyler was spending time with his daughter after the sendoff ceremony for 55 members of the 334th Forward Support Battalion and the 834th Engineer Company at the Davenport Armory. The two units left later in the day for Camp Dodge in Des Moines, Iowa. They will be transferred later to a training camp and then will be deployed to Afghanistan.
